Ceramic sculpture

Forest Walk
13” ht.

Demonstration:
Art in the Attic. Come discover my studio overlooking the valley. I will share the process I go through in making my sculptures, from what inspires me to the physical completion of an idea. Directly experience the clay and tools I use.

Directions to studio:
1 ½ blocks north of F Street, on Willow Street. Up the stairs.

Artist statement:
I have long been enchanted by clay. When I was little I would go out after a rain and look for fresh clay to  make small animals out of. I am still fascinated by this world around me. Making these colorful sculptures of many parts gives me a way of expressing what I see, and sense. I am very moved by bringing parts together into a whole. We consist of many facets. The world consists of many parts. My sculpture expresses how this can all come together into a cohesive wholeness.

When I work on a sculpture I let go and let the process take me where it leads.

My sculptures are suitable for enjoyment both indoors and outside in most climates.
