Pastel, oil painting, glass & concrete sculpture

Mandala of Air 1
Glass sculpture

Demonstration:
This is a working studio with many different mediums at various stages of progress. Glass/concrete sculptures for home and garden, oil and pastel paintings are dominant. My studio is also full of the objects and books of inspiration I’ve collected over my lifetime as an artist/scientist.

Directions to studio:
Take Hastings towards Cape George to Howard Street; take a right. Go to the end of Howard to 35th Street; take a right. The studio is the 2nd driveway on the left with the sign on the tree: 2302. Please park on 35th, off the road.

Artist statement:
Understanding that change is the only constant, and, therefore, neither good or bad. In January, 2004, I changed my studio around to accommodate painting (oil, pastel) in addition to glass and concrete sculptures. I go back and forth working both fat and sculpturally, often simultaneously.

I love to look at people---I stare, actually. Since intense emotions are often fast, and best caught in photos, particularly in newspapers, these become my models. And I’m looking for things and places of beauty that offer a rest from the intensity.
